The General Consulate of Ivory Coast in United Arab Emirates is located in Dubai. It intends to assist as much as possible visitors going to Côte d’Ivoire as well as Ivorian Nationals living and staying in the United Arab Emirates.

The Consulate General in Dubai is competent for all consular matters in all the 7 following Emirates : Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Sharjah, Ajman, Umm al Quwain, Ras Al Khaimah and Fujairah.

Registration is voluntary, costs 200aed and is free of charge for students. We will not disclose the information you provide through the registration application to any third parties (this includes family members) unless you have first given it written authorization to do so. In the event that family members make enquiries about your whereabouts, such requests will be forwarded to you. You may choose to inform the mission of your decision to respond or not.

The Consulate would like to urge its co-nationals to leave the most complete list of contact phone numbers and residing addresses in order to locate you during an emergency, verifying your status, liaising with your next-of-kin and advising you on what to do. 
Vast numbers of Ivorian nationals who reside or travel abroad do not encounter any difficulties. However, since nothing shall be excluded, an Ivorian abroad could become victim of crime, accident/s, illness, death, natural/man-made disasters, civil unrest, urging the family to contact him/her in an emergency.

Even when born abroad, a baby of Ivorian parents becomes automatically Ivorian and shouldapply for its first Ivorian passport at the regional Embassy of Côte d’Ivoire which is in Saudi Arabia.  

Procedure to follow after the baby was born: 

1    Within 40 days of the birth,
      Register your child at the UAE authorities. All expatriates must get both, the Arabic and English birth certificate attested by the Ministry of Health (at Al Baraha Hospital, alsdoknown as Kuwaiti Hospital. Tel 04 271 00 00) and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

-› you will be given an attestation of the baby ’s birth certificate. Get the attestation in Arabic and English.

Documentation to be presented:

  • Passport of both parents (original and copy)

  • Marriage certificate (original and copy) translated into Arabic

2   Apply for a Ivorian birth certificate at the Embassy in Saudi Arabia:

  • the baby's birth certificate, attested by Ministry of Health in English (to be translated in French)

  • Passport of both parents (copy)

  • Marriage certificate (copy)

  • one photo of the infant ,the eyes of the infant have to be open

  • 90 Riyals 

  • The documents can be sent directly to the embassy or through the Consulate.

Since all new passports are issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Abijan, so the processing time will be approximately 30 days.

3   Within 120 days of the birth, apply for the UAE visa for the infant.

The loss of a loved one is always painful but, should it happen abroad, the need to resolve certain practical problems compounds that sorrow. 

It is but natural that an Ivorian national would want to be repatriated to Côte d’Ivoire for his/her eternal rest. 

In order to repatriate a corpse, the Consulate can offer logistic help by sending a request to the Ivorian authorities concerned to obtain a declaration of "non objection to receive the corpse".
The cost for repatriating the corpse have to be bared by the family.

Procedure to follow after a death: 

1       Inform the Consulate

Documentation to be presented:

  • Passport of the deceased 

  • Death certificate

-› Certificate of Death legalized by the Consulate of Côte d’Ivoire.
-› A document from Côte d’Ivoire authorities stating the permission to repatriate the corpse. This document will be needed to settle the repatriation with an airways.

Ivorian citizens and foreign nationals doing business in the Côte d’Ivoire often require the services of a Notary Public for documents that will be used in the jurisdiction of Côte d’Ivoire. The Consulate General can notarize documents for use in Côte d’Ivoire. every business day. Photo identification with signature (e.g., a passport, a driver’s license, etc.) is required. If the document also requires witnesses, you must bring your own witnesses, each of whom should present identification. For current fees please call the Consulate.
